I remember when I first learned about film processing I had to understand how the film captured a "negative' image that was transferred to paper to produce a "positive" image.
While in Vegas for Halloween this weekend I saw this pumpkin in a restaurant and my mind starting playing with the negative and positive space. I wanted to capture on my DSLR what my mind was playing with so I did not use flash to show just a carved pumpkin, but rather left it off and cranked up the ISO to show you the face my mind was seeing based on the negative and positive space it played with.
Capturing the shot with a dark background made for a much creepier experience than what the restaurant's bright lighting allowed for!
