Happy Anniversary to Me

One year ago yesterday I attended my first In Focus class at Marion Bear Park. I had been taking photos for years but had never gotten comfortable with digital. So knew I had things to learn, but never realized back then just how much!

Recently I looked through my photos from that day and then photos from the next class and the next one. Then just for comparison I went back over my older digital photos...photos from before IFLC. I can see a difference between those older photos and now. I can see the progress I have made. I have learned so much during the In Focus classes. I'm not saying I am all that great at this...I am saying that I am not deleting every photo I take...that my vision and my photos are not so far apart as in the past.

I’m not doing this to become a professional photographer. I’m doing this because I want to. It makes me happpy. It gives me a place to go. Not so much a location. Though have spent a lot of time at Balboa Park lately. The place I go is a creative place in my head and in my heart. We all have that creative place but we need a way to unlock it. I think that the expectations of other people and the restrictions we put on ourselves is like the lock on the door of our creativity. The IFLC is like a key to unlock that creative place if we let it be.

Happy IFLC Anniversary and we hope there are many more.
